Rimaskóli girls dominate chess competition

The 2025 Iceland Primary School Girls' Chess Team Championship concluded with an impressive performance from Rimaskóli teams.
Rimaskóli sent the most chess teams to the tournament and the girls won decisively in the youngest and oldest categories.
The girls in grades 1-2 won all their matches without losing a single game. An outstanding performance by Gunnhildur Aþena, Elsa María and Ásta Sóllilja.
In the oldest category, grades 6-10, Rimaskóli girls won comfortably, as they have in recent years. Emilía Embla, Sigrún Tara and Emilía S. were responsible for this achievement.
Rimaskóli sent five chess teams to the tournament, with four of them placing in medal positions. Since 2003, Rimaskóli girls have won the Iceland Primary School Girls' Chess Team Championship 20 times. They all train with the Fjölnir Chess.
Congratulations to Rimaskóli on this excellent achievement
